09/16/19: Contractor received and placed 6.0 CY of Class C, 3,000 PSI high early concrete in 18.0 LF of cradle underneath the 15 inches diameter connect pipe run between manhole str.M-1 and inlet structure I-1 on SB-295. Installed rebars on deck extension slabs on Bridges 1016 and 1017 Abutment A. Installing intermediate diaphragms on Bridge 1016 Span 2 and also continued the drilling of holes on Bridges 1016 and 1017 Abutments and pier caps for anchor bolts on girders G, H, I, J, K, L, M and N. Demolished existing asphalt pavement on SB-295 between sta. 24+00 and 25+00, right of the baseline including the additional full depth pavement. Removed formworks from UHPC closure joints between modular units 6-1 through 8-1 and 6-2 through 8-2 on NB-295, bridge 1016, left of the baseline. Started the chipping of concrete on Bridge 1017 Pier for type 1 or 2 crack repair. Installing junction boxes JB-7 and JB-2 on the backwall of bridge 1017, abutment A and B respectively.

09/17/19: Contractor backfill over 15” diameter RC connect pipe run between manhole str. M-1 and inlet structure I-1 on SB-295. Excavated to subgrade on SB-295 between sta. 24+00 and 25+00, right of the baseline which was added to proposed full depth pavement. Continued the installation of screwed in rebars on deck extension slabs on Bridges 1016 and 1017 Abutment A and B. Continued the drilling of holes on Bridges 1016 and 1017 Abutments and pier caps for installation of anchor bolts on girders G, H, I, J, K, L, M and N. Performed hard surface demolition and common excavation for full depth pavement on SB-295 approximately between sta. 23+60 and 24+30, right of the baseline. Continued the chipping of concrete on Bridge 1017 pier for type 1 or 2 crack repair. Installed electrical conduits for under bridge lighting on Bridge 1017, Abutment B. The crew installed 20 ft of PVC coated rigid conduit between JB-2 and JB-3, 16 ft of #10 cable from JB-2 to UB-2, 8 ft of #8 ground wire from JB-2 to UB-2, 16 ft of #10 cable from JB-1 to UB-1 and 8 ft of #8 ground wire between JB-1 and UB-1.

09/18/19: Contractor excavated to plan depth placed 6 inches lift of no. 57 aggregates bedding material and set the base units of manhole str. M-5 and quality inlet str. QI-5 on SB-295 sta. 23+80 and sta. 23+62, right of the baseline respectively. Excavated and installed 13 LF (1-6 ft and 1-7 ft joints) of 15” connect pipe between manhole M-5 and quality inlet QI-5. Removed existing structure I-2 on SB-295, sta. 23+62, right of the baseline prior to the setting of quality inlet structure QI-5. Continued the installation of rebars for deck extension slabs on Bridges 1016 and 1017 Abutments A and B. Continued the drilling of holes to install anchor bolts on bridges 1016 abutment A. on girders K, L, M and N. Continued the chipping of concrete for type 1 and 2 crack repairs on the north and south side faces on Bridge 1016 pier. Installing electrical conduits for under bridge lighting on bridges 1016 and 1017. The crew installed three junction boxes, JB-8, JB-3 and JB-6, 11 ft. of PVC coated rigid conduit between JB-14 and JB-6, 20 ft between JB-5 and JB-6 and 10 ft between HH-1 and JB-3.

Placed forms and installed rebars including the screwed in rebars on deck extension slabs on Bridges 1016 and 1017, abutments A and B. Continued the drilling of holes on bridges 1016 and 1017 abutments and pier caps for installation of anchor bolts on girders G, H, I, J, K, L, M and N. Performed hard surface demolition and common excavation for full depth pavement on SB-295 approximately between sta. 23+60 and 24+30, right of the baseline. Continued the chipping of concrete on Bridge 1017 pier for type 1 or 2 crack repair. Installed electrical conduits for under bridge lighting on bridges 1016 and 1017. Installed 16 ft of #10 cable from JB-3 to UB-3, 8 ft of #8 ground wire from JB-3 to UB-3, 16 ft of #10 cable from JB-6 to UB-6 and 8 ft of #8 ground wire from JB6 to UB-6, 8 ft of #10 cable from JB-7 to UB-7 and 4 ft of #8 ground wire from JB-7 to UB-7. Placed 12 inches depth of GAB material in two 6 inches compacted lifts in proposed full depth pavement section on SB-295, DDOT soil technician Patel performed compaction tests on GAB placed and material was found to be adequately compacted. 

Placed 12 inches depth of base asphalt BM-25 in three 4 inches compacted lifts in proposed full depth pavement section on SB-295.

09/20/19: Contractor completed the installation of rebars and forms on bridges 1016 and 1017 deck extensions at abutment A and B. The crew received and placed 18.0 cubic yards of class A in deck extensions. Backfilled over 15 inches RC connect pipe installed between manhole M-5 and quality Inlet QI-1. The soil backfill material were placed in 6 inches loose lifts compacted to 4 inches. Backfilling was monitored and density test performed by DDOT soils Technician, Patel and results were found to be within the required specifications. Placed 12 inches depth of GAB material in two 6 inches compacted lifts in proposed full depth pavement section on SB, DDOT Soils Technician, Patel performed compaction tests on GAB placed and material was found to be adequately compacted. Placed 12 inches depth of base asphalt BM-25 in three 4 inches compacted lifts in proposed full depth pavement section on SB-295 approximately from sta. 23+60 to 24+80, right of the baseline. The subcontractor received 95.16 tons of BM-25, placed 91.53 ton and returned 4.23 tons.
